50% grocery savings

We have been loving coupon savings. For payday last Friday we had a big list of stuff we needed, a lot of which we didn't have coupons for (you know...contact solution, milk, butter...). But we did have a good amount of coupons with us too. We ended up saving 50% on our groceries, despite having fewer coupons. It was awesome! We got about $100 of groceries for just $50. It was really rewarding.

One thing we're definitely learning is that if sales clerks are ornery about accepting coupons, hold your ground. If they stay ornery, just don't get the stuff and try another time, another clerk. The sales people at Smiths and Target have been great. One Wal-Mart clerk gave us some trouble, but Shaun was great at being firm that our coupons were legit, and ended up succeeding in using them. I'm glad he's good at that, because I'm wimpy about it. =)
